School Council attend launch of Mr Alzheimer’s Goes To School Project

Mr Alzheimer’s is a storybook character, created by an Age UK Salford dementia awareness project, in order to start a conversation and campaign around dementia awareness for children.

This week, members of our School Council attended the launch event in Salford and our school will be taking part in the project over the next academic year using a Mr Alzheimer’s teddy, introduction post cards for family and friends, puzzles and games, a diary and a Mr Alzheimer’s Goes to Toyland story book.

Mash Club Week 2

After a good start last week Mash Club members are in full swing with their coding challenge. This week we continued to make our interactive game using free code. We made a setting, added characters, made the characters move using keyboard commands and added collisions. We look forward to making more interesting games using free code.

Grosvenor Road Writing and Drawing Competition

In Monday’s assembly, we announced the winners of our ‘Grosvenor Road Writing and Drawing Competition’ which we launched on World Book Day. We had a fantastic response from the children and the staff loved reading through all the fantastic stories. The stories were so imaginative that it was very difficult to decide on a winner for each class.
In KS2 the drawing competition was to choose a front cover for our new Reading Journals. It was so difficult that we ended up choosing picture for the front cover and one for the back cover!
