On Friday 26th April, our KS2 Choir and all the children who have music tuition treated us to a concert. Our children played various instruments – piano, guitar, cornet, trumpet and tenor horn, each performing a piece on their own.
Well done to all our children and thank you to our (very large) audience of parents and families – your support is very much appreciated!
On Monday 5th February, our choir sang at the AO Arena, Manchester alongside 8000 other children in the Young Voices Concert.
All the children in our choir have worked very hard to learn all the songs and their efforts were rewarded on Monday evening. We are all extremely proud of them – they sang so well and a fantastic time was had by all at this very special event.
Thank you to all our parents and families who supported us and all those who helped the choir along the way.
Here are photographs and videos of our afternoon and evening at the Arena:
All our choir’s hard work in rehearsals over the past few months paid off at our spectacular Young Voices Concert on Friday. We were amongst 8351 children who performed at Manchester Arena as part of ‘The Largest School Choir Concerts in the World’.
We are extremely proud of our children’s fantastic singing, their super dance moves and their impeccable behaviour during the rehearsal and concert at the Arena. Here are some photographs and video from our amazing day – a truly memorable experience for all of us!
Dear Choir, We have lots of songs to learn for our concert at The Manchester Arena in January. Please select songs below and practise singing-along! Full songs will be available soon on YV WEBSITE.

We are very pleased to announce that we have been awarded the prestigious Artsmark Silver Award.
Artsmark is Arts Council England’s award for schools and education settings who champion cultural education, celebrating settings that embrace the arts across the curriculum.
Our Silver Award shows how the school is skilled in unlocking the potential of our children, developing their character and talent, and increasing their knowledge and understanding across the wider curriculum.
The award has been achieved over a three year period, led by Mrs Heys and Mrs Peacock, together with our Art Subject Leader Mrs Moran and our Music Subject Leader Mrs Newall. We look forward to continuing to promote the arts and a wider curriculum at Grosvenor Road, giving our children a range of opportunities and experiences in school and out in the wider community.

On Thursday 18th July, we continued to forge links between our school and Wentworth House Care Home as our Junior choir performed four songs for the residents and staff. We had a lovely afternoon and our audience was very appreciative; the residents especially enjoyed our song ‘Hey Mr Miller’ which is in the style of Glenn Miller!
On Thursday we welcomed Chris and Stewart from Travelling By Tuba into school with their wide array of instruments. All our children were given the opportunity to experience an assembly or a workshop by the talented duo who entertain us, whilst teaching key musical knowledge. Here are some photographs from the day –
On Friday 22nd March we held a Music Concert to showcase our very talented musicians in Key Stage 2. Our guitarists, pianists, drummers and choir performed to a packed school hall of family members. Thank you to our very receptive audience and well done to all our performers!
