On Friday 17th February, well-known author Christopher Edge visited school. He led two excellent assemblies and an inspiring writing workshop for some of our children in Year 5&6.

Year 4LL Class assembly
Today, Miss Livesey’s class taught us all about The Romans in their assembly, watched by their parents and two Year 3 classes. All the children contributed, speaking clearly and telling us about the Roman invasion and what life was like in Britain under The Romans. They also performed two songs, which showed their knowledge of Roman Numerals and Boudica – Queen of the Iceni.
After the assembly, parents visited Year 4LL classroom to look at their child’s topic work and take part in some Roman topic activities.
Thank you very much to all the parents who supported the class today and WELL DONE to Miss Livesey’s children – you were amazing!
Sponsored Pancake Flip 2023
On Friday 10th and Monday 13th February, all children in school took part in our Sponsored Pancake Flip. We all tried to flip as many wooden pancakes as we could in two minutes -we really enjoyed this challenge and had great fun whilst also raising extra funds for our school!
We would like to thank all the parent volunteers and members of our PTA who came into school over the two days to help count all those flips – we really could not have done this event without you all.
Most importantly, thank you to all our families who have very generously sponsored our children – we are currently collecting sponsor money in and hope to announce our grand total after half term. All classes have also been asked to compile a wishlist, so that our School Council and PTA can decide how best to use all the monies raised – for the benefit of all our children.

Year 3&4 Basketball Team
On Monday 13th February, seven of our Year 3 and 4 children were invited to Bridgewater School to take part in a Basketball competition alongside other schools in Salford. The children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the competition. Their behaviour was impeccable and they showed great sportsmanship and teamwork together with many other of our school values such as perseverance and respect.
It was a pleasure to see them all taking part, supporting each other and having fun!
