BRAZIL ASSEMBLY BY YEAR 5PS

On Thursday 28th March, Miss Sawkins’ class presented their excellent assembly all about Brazil.

We were treated to flights onboard ‘Grosvenor Road Airlines’ to travel around Brazil and learn about all the features of Physical Geography and Human Gepography which the children have learned throughout their topic this term.

Well done to all the children in Y5PS – you were amazing!

Thank you very much to all the parents and carers who supported their children at the assembly and came into class afterwards to join in activities.

EASTER FAMILY BINGO!

This year’s TWO Easter Family Bingo Evenings were held on Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th March. ALL tickets for the event were sold out and a great time was had by all.

Thank you to all those who donated an egg for the Bingo Evenings – a proportion of these has also been given to SALFORD FOODBANK for children who may not receive any eggs this Easter time.

We would like to thank all parents and children who attended and all the School Staff and PTA Members who gave up their time to make the evenings possible.

EASTER HAT CELEBRATION

On Monday 25th March, we held a very ‘Egg-citing’ Easter Hat Competition in school. Children and their parents really worked hard to create some extraordinary hats and these were all celebrated in class. (see photographs below)

Our Chair of Governors, Mrs Dunkley, was then given the very difficult task of choosing a winning hat from each of our 23 classes and an overall winner in school.

Congratulations to our class winners below. Our TWO overall winners were Ryan and Greyson – they received an additional prize and their hats were worn by Mr Pridden, our bingo caller, at Easter Family Bingo!

WELL DONE to all our entrants – your hats were all excellent!

BRAZIL ASSEMBLY BY YEAR 5LL

On Thursday 21st March, Miss Livesey’s Year 5 class presented their Brazil Assembly to their parents and carers plus Year 4.

They presented a great deal of information which they have learned this term about Brazil, including its geographical features and culture. They even included a Samba dance!

ALL the children contributed to the assembly and made this a very memorable occasion. Well done to eveybody!

Thank you to all the parents and carers who supported the class, attending the assembly and taking part in activities with their children afterwards in the classroom.

Visitor to Year 2

As part of our current R.E. topic in Y2, we enjoyed bringing Judaism to life in the classroom when a visitor came to deliver a workshop about ‘objects in the home’.

The children were able to handle artefacts, ask questions and learn about what Jewish people do in the home on Shabbat. We discussed what Shabbat is, when it takes place and what preparation is done for Shabbat. The children enjoyed their experience and were encouraged to think about their own lives and what is really good about having a ‘time of rest’.

VICTORIANS ASSEMBLY BY YEAR 3MW

On Thursday 7th March, the children in Miss Wood’s class presented their assembly about childhood during Victorian times. Well done to all the children – your speaking and singing were excellent!

Thank you to all the parents who supported the class, attending the assembly and taking part in activities with their children afterwards in class.

SPONSORED PANCAKE FLIP 2024

On Friday 9th and Monday 12th February, all children in school took part in our sponsored pancake flip – trying to flip as many (wooden) pancakes as possible in two minutes!

As you can see from the photographs below, the children had a great time taking part. THANK YOU for your very generous sponsorship and MANY THANKS to all the adults who came into school to help with counting flips – we really could not run the sessions without your support.
