Year 4 have been having fun in Maths this week!
They have started to find fractions of amounts. What better way to start than finding amounts of our favourite sweets and chocolates?

Well Done to all those that took part in the World Book Day photograph competition. Everyone had fun and we had lots of amazing photographs to share.
Here are the winners.
Some mums and dads joined us for Stay and Play on World Book Day. They enjoyed listening to the stories with us, and then kindly read more stories by Nick Sharratt.
We made telescopes, like one of the characters in the Shark in the Park book.
In the afternoon we made and ate our own cheese sandwiches. Some of us tried pickle. They were delicious! 🙂
The children were very excited to see their world book day stories, which arrived in a HUGE box with helium balloons!
They were two stories by the author and illustrator, Nick Sharratt – ‘Shark in the Park on a Windy day’ and ‘Just Imagine’. We learnt some information about him (that he likes drawing sharks and eating cheese and pickle sandwiches!).
During the day we did lots of activities based on Nick Sharratt and his books.
After looking at his illustrations, we drew pictures of ourselves.
We have received our new books and the excitement has been overwhelming. Look at some on the books we have been reading, exploring and using for our work today.
Today we celebrate World Book Day. Reading is an adventure and an exciting way to explore new worlds.
This morning every class will receive one of these NEW books to read, explore and create exciting pieces of work. Even the Teachers don’t know what the books are. Follow our reading adventure today and see what exciting things we come up with.
